Orbis Kazakhstan will produce cars of the Chinese brand KAIYI at a new automobile plant in Almaty.
Orbis Manufacturing has signed an agreement with automobile manufacturer Yibin Kaiyi Automobile Co., Ltd during the second forum of Kazakhstani exporters in Astana. This document confirms that Orbis Manufacturing has received the right to manufacture cars under the KAIYI brand in Kazakhstan, reports Orda.kz. The signing ceremony of the agreement on the production of KAIYI cars in Kazakhstan was held as part of a special session led by Minister of Trade and Integration Arman Shakkaliev. The agreement was signed by Sukhrab Makhmudov, President of Orbis Kazakhstan, and Ga Lei, CEO of Yibin Kaiyi Automobile Co. . The memorandum stipulates full support from the Chinese manufacturer for Orbis Manufacturing in the production of KAIYI vehicles using full cycle technology (CKD). . This means that KAIYI will provide all the necessary technical documentation for the products, including instructions for welding and painting bodies, and will send its specialists to the site to provide support and control over the process. In addition, KAIYI will provide technical and human resources support to ensure the smooth completion of localization work by both companies. . Last May, Orbis Kazakhstan signed an agreement with EXEED International on the production of vehicles of this brand in Kazakhstan. In the second quarter of this year, Orbis Kazakhstan will begin construction of a full-cycle automobile plant for the production of Orbis Manufacturing vehicles. Currently, work on the design and estimate documentation (DED) has been completed. The factory complex will be built in the industrial zone of Almaty according to the standards of the leaders of the automotive industry of China and using advanced technologies of the leading enterprises of the Chinese automotive industry. The company will be equipped with the most modern technological equipment. The production capacity of the factory complex is 80 thousand cars per year. It was noted that 1,500 highly qualified and well-paid jobs will be created at the first stage of the factory complex's operation. Recall that in 2023, Orbis Auto automotive group received the right to sell and service KAIYI brand cars in Kazakhstan. The exclusive distribution agreement was signed by Orbis Auto subsidiary Vision Auto LLP and Yibin Kaiyi International Trading Co. Currently, Orbis Kazakhstan's subsidiary Orbis Auto Automotive Group is developing a KAIYI dealer network in Kazakhstan, through which the sale of cars produced at the new plant will be ensured.
